Speaker: Erik Carter

Speaker Bio: A dual citizen of the United States and Norway, Dr. Erik Carter has a deep concern for the faithfulness of the church and speaks regularly around the country and abroad on matters of theological and spiritual renewal. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a PhD in Philosophy from Claremont School of Theology.

 As an ordained minister in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a certified pastoral counselor, Dr. Carter has served in diverse population groups, including the local church, community service centers, hospitals and at-risk youth agencies. Currently, he is Chair of Relational Studies and an assistant professor of religion and spirituality at the School of Religion.  

 Dr. Carter is married to Harmony Carter, a pediatric anesthesiologist at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Together, they have two children. When not teaching or spending time with his family, he is an avid hiker, peakbagger, and ultralight backpacker, most recently completing the Via di Francesco (“Way of St. Francis”) pilgrimage in Italy.
