Poetic Voices
Michael Orlich presents “elemental transitions: poems of birth, death, and other changes.”
Michael will share poems from the ordinary
but profound experiences of his life: the death
of his father, the love of his wife, the arrivals
and antics of his children. Many of his poems
represent a kind of verbal snapshot—not great
art but treasured memories, captured and
pondered in words.
Michael is a Preventive Medicine physician at
Loma Linda University, where he also directs
the PhD program in Epidemiology and is
involved in research with the Adventist Health
Study - 2. He hosts a monthly poetry sharing
group. His poems have appeared in Inlandia,
Spectrum, and San Bernardino Singing.
