What — Magnet appraisers from the American Nursing Credentialing Center will be visiting the Medical Center April 6-8. The Magnet site visit is a three-day audit to determine Magnet-designation — the ultimate recognition for nursing excellence. The appraisers are here to highlight the great care that we provide and want nurses to share all the wonderful things they are doing to improve patient care.
Who — Magnet appraisers are all nurses who have served or are currently serving in a variety of nursing leadership roles throughout the United States. They have been former CNOs, nurse educators, Magnet program directors, etc.
Where — The appraisers will try to visit all units and clinics where nursing is practiced.
Why — The purpose of a Magnet site visit is for the appraisers to clarify, verify and amplify the care we provide. After reading the Magnet documents, appraisers want to come on site to learn more about us and why we deserve Magnet-designation.
